As part of our outreach programmslide1.JPGe, Pandava Sena of Sri Jagannatha Mandir continued our monthly visit to the Agathians Shelter home, Petaling Jaya, last Saturday. This home provides shelter to 30 boys. As proposed, we will be conducting programmes at this orphanage on a monthly basis. The objectives are to introduce Krishna Consciousness to the children, caretakers and at the same time engaging and training our youths in preaching activities.

Last Saturday, about 10 youths participated in the programme. The programme started off with a kirtan lead by Bhakta Lal and Bhaktin Shobana. The boys are now familiar with the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra and can easily sing along. After the kirtan, we told them a story from the Krishna book – The advent of Lord Krishna. They all listen very attentively. At the end of the class, all the youths took turns to ask the boys questions pertaining to the class. For each question answered the boys were rewarded with gifts. They all could answer very nicely, a proof that they were very much attentive.

We would like to thank HG Kesinisudana slide3.JPGprabhu for sponsoring the lunch. We also thank Bhakta Pathman for collecting donations to buy groceries for the home. Last but not least we thank all the devotees who attended the programme.
