Damodara celebration at Krishna Temple

The Sri Krishna Temple, Brickfields, has an outstanding record of drawing the most number of patrons for ISKCON programmes held there. For the past few years 200-300 patrons joined Gaura Purnima and Damodara festivals.  Yesterday, the Brickfields yatra, headed by Bh Kamalanathan, once again hosted the Damodara festival at the temple. Though the streets of Brickfields were arrayed by other attractions to lure the Deepavali shoppers, it is didn’t deter the enthusiasm of some 150 devouts to join in the celebrations.   The sweet altar decoration by the temple youths was traditional yet artistic. It was a most befitting simhasana for Sri Sri Radha-Krishna Who regaled in majesty and beauty.  The brahmacaris performed melodious kirtan, followed by a short discourse by yours truly in both Tamil & English. To add some colour and attraction to the evening, two dance performances by three little girls and kolattam was next on the list.  The pint-sized girls stole the show with their confident and dainty steps. The kolattam was performed to a
Krishna song that was interspersed with Hare Krishna Mahamantra.
Finally everyone was given an opportunity to offer ghee lamps to Lord Sri Damodara thus culminating an evening of transcendental sweetness, much to the satisfaction of all who attended.

We thank Laxmi mataji for sponsoring the delicious prasadam that was a hit.  We thank all the donors and well-wishers as well as the organizing team. On Wednesday, the local yatra will be conducting Damodara caroling in Brickfields.  This is our humble offering unto the lotus feet of Srila Prabhupada.  Thank you. Dasanudasa Uttama Caitanya dasa
